Cheng Khee Chee
Cheng-Khee Chee, Associate Professor Emeritus of the University of Minnesota, is a Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor society, Master Watercolorist of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America, Knickerbocker Artists USA, Singapore Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA Honor Society and others.
Chee was born in Fujian, China, grew up in Penang, Malaysia and received his B.A. degree from Nanyang University in Singapore. He came to the United Satates in 1962 and completed his Master's degree at the University of Minnesota. Since 1965 ha has been living in Duluth with his family and pursuing his studio work while working as a faculty member of the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He became a full time artist in July 1994. He is a frequently sought national show juror and workshop instuctor. Chee's paintings have been widely exhibited throughout the United States and earned him over 160 national awards.
Doris is one of the premire Maritime artists in the United States and Canada. Her career as an artist spans 46 years. Her paintings and prints of the Edmund Fitzgerald are widely sold.
Ms. wegler has studied under national and regional pastel artists. She is affiliated with the Pastel Society of America, Lake County Pastel Society Grand Marais Art Colony and Artists of Minnesota.
Michelle Wegler's paintings have been exhibited locally and nationally. Commissions include portraits of people, pets and homes. Her paintings have one numerous awards and honors. They are included in private and corporate collections.
Pam grew up on the shores of Lake Superior. As a young girl, her parents encouraged her to paint. As Pam grew, so did her desire to bring her love of the outdoors alive on canvas. At age 14, Pam sold her first painting for $15. Pam has worked as an illustrator and graphic artist, specializing in medical illustration. She has illustrated various laboratory manuals and medical textbooks. Although basically a self-taught artist, Pam has trained privately with well-know artists and portrait Greg Johnson. Pam's photorealistic style, so necessary for medical illustration, shows in her paintings. Her basic medium is oil, although she has done watercolors in the past. Northern Minnesota settings are the background for many of Pam's paintings as well as the beautiful Duluth scenery she knows so well. Pam spends much of her time in her studio, busy with commissions, working on her next painting or teaching an oil painting class.
